Having a birthday is exceptional good for you health. The more you have, the longer you live.

Those that don’t study history are doomed to repeat it. Sadly, those that have studied it, are doomed to stand by while everyone else repeats it.

The immune system essentially sees things in one of two ways: “self” which is part of the body and shouldn’t be attacked, and “non-self” which is typically a foreign contaminant that needs to be dealt with. When cells become pre-cancerous, the immune system no longer sees them as being part of the self and eliminates them.

Of course, the immune system isn’t perfect and doesn’t get rid of all pre-cancerous cells, probably because those cells might not seem different enough to attack. Or, the immune system might recognize the threat but isn’t strong enough to do anything about it. Researchers are now figuring out how to bolster the immune system so it becomes better equipped to recognize and handle the threat.
